A busy day off Hope Bay, one of the Southern Gulf Islands Harbours Commission ports. Plumper Sound is safe harbour to freighters waiting for entry to Port of Vancouver in the winter. Coast Guard Auxilliary #25 is using the area for practice on this sunny afternoon.

A twenty-person outrigger canoe, built by Chris Cooper of Pitt Meadows on the Mainland, reaches Miners Bay, Mayne Island. This is Chris’ second canoe trip across the Strait of Georgia. (To get an idea of the distance of this journery, see our map.)
