Island Tides is an independent, regional newspaper on Canada's West Coast, distributed on the east coast of Vancouver Island and the southern and northern Gulf Islands. Island Tides covers an eclectic mix of local, regional, national and international topics - serious and light-hearted.
Home-ported in the Canadian Gulf Islands National Park Reserve, Island Tides has been publishing a print edition every second Thursday for twenty-one years, during this time its readership and sphere of influence has been growing steadily.
Island Tides is delivered by Canada Post into 14,000 Gulf Islands' mailboxes on Salt Spring, Gabriola, Pender, Galiano, Mayne, Saturna, Denman, Hornby, Quadra, Cortes, Texada, and Read Islands. Our colourful newspaper can also be picked-up at stores, marinas, ferry terminals and coffee shops around BC's Strait of Georgia: from Sidney, to
Nanaimo, to Campbell River - and even Howe Sound. It can be read online at www.islandtides.com.
Island Tides' point of view is positive and innovative. Our writers provide context to help readers make sense of conflicting information. Our photographers evoke the beauty, fun, and charm of our very special area. Island Tides gives readers a relaxed, informed 'West Coast' feeling!
